IBIS onboard INTEGRAL,
the International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory
INTEGRAL and IBIS in brief
INTEGRAL,
"INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics
Laboratory", is the ESA's gamma astronomy satellite scheduled
for launch in October 2002. It is dedicated to fine spectroscopy and
imaging of hard X-ray and gamma-ray sources in the energy range from 15 keV
to 10 MeV.
IBIS, "Imager on Board
INTEGRAL Satellite",
is a coded mask telescope which will observe galactic and extragalactic
sources.

The IBIS-INTEGRAL Team at IASF-Palermo
Inside IBIS project, IASF-Palermo has been responsible of the
Ground Support Equipment required during all the development phases of the
instrument. Nowadays, IASF-Palermo is involved in the
definition of the IBIS calibration plan and is responsible
of the instrument operations.
With different commitments and tasks, the following IASF-Palermo
personnel is part of the IBIS-INTEGRAL group:
