How to reach us:
From the airport of Punta Raisi “Falcone e Borsellino”
By Train:
Take the metro on the ground floor of the airport (stop “Punta Raisi”). Get off the train at “San Lorenzo“. From there IASF-Palermo is only a 10 minute walk. This train ride takes about 30 minutes and the tickets costs € 6.

By Taxi:
The taxi fare from the airport to Palermo north is ~ € 35 during the day, to Palermo downtown is ~ € 40 during the day; the fares are higher in the night.
By Bus
The bus shuttle (“Prestia e Comandè” company) will bring you from the Palermo airport to downtown. The journey is nominally 40 minutes, but it strongly depends on traffic. The fare is ~ € 6 and you can buy the ticket on board. There are more than 20 daily trips, at a frequency of 30 minutes, from 6:30 to 00:30 approximately. Get off at the “Politeama” station. To reach the institute from downtown, you can use taxi (~ € 15) or buses (see below). Link to Prestia e Comandè timetable.
By Car:
From the motorway A29, direction Palermo, exit “Zona industriale nord“; the CNR Area is on your left, few meters after the underpass.
From downtown
Apart from taxi (~ € 15), the following bus services operated by AMAT are available from downtown to IASF-Palermo (CNR Area). Be aware that if the traffic is heavy, the trip can take more than one hour.
Bus: Line 103 or 134 (from “Politeama Garibaldi” to “Regione Siciliana – De Saliba”, 15 stops) then Line 100 (from “Regione Siciliana – De Saliba” to “La Malfa -CNR”, 12 stops).
Bus: Line 102 (from “Dante – XX Settembre” to “Regione Siciliana – Parcheggio Degli Emiri”, 14 stops) then Line 100 (from “Regione Siciliana – Parcheggio Degli Emiri”, to “La Malfa -CNR”, 17 stops).

You can’t buy the ticket on board. Buy it at tabacs or bars or AMAT shops.
By Train:
Take the metro at “Notarbartolo” station. Get off the train at “San Lorenzo” or “La Malfa“. From “San Lorenzo” IASF-Palermo is only a 10 minute walk. “La Malfa” is closer to the Institute but the trains run less frequently. This train ride takes about 5 minutes and the tickets costs € 1.50.
